DTS data from TRACER TBS

Overview:

Distributed temperature-sensing data collected using a Silixa-XT DTS and 50/125 MM fiber.  Data are calibrated using two water baths at the surface and an iMet aloft at the end of the fiber and tether.  The data are then assigned an altitude for the TBS flight.

Abstract:

Distributed temperature-sensing data collected using a Silixa-XT DTS and 50/125 MM fiber.  Data are calibrated using two water baths at the surface and an iMet aloft at the end of the fiber and tether.  The data are then assigned an altitude for the TBS flight.

Purpose:

These data provide high-resolution temperature data every 0.5m between the surface and the balloon every 30 to 60s during TBS flight. They essentially function as a continuous radiosonde over the TBS operating altitude.

Data Usage: These temperature data can be used similarly to radiosonde temperature data.
